7/20/11 19 weeks

Today I saw Nancy, the nurse practitioner at Tristate Maternal Fetal Medicine. Everything is looking great. They have done an ultrasound of my cervix each week since 16 weeks to make sure that there is no shortening which could indicate a risk for preterm labor. Fortunately, the cervix has been looking great with no sign of changes. The ultrasound also looks at the babies heartrates which have all been good and strong. My uterus measures 26 cm at 19 weeks gestation. With a single baby you would anticipate the uterus measuring around 19 weeks!
The babies are really starting to move now. Baby C always gets the pot stirring!
This is my last week of work. I can't believe I'm already to this point in the pregnancy. As much as I thought the doctors were crazy initially when they said bedrest at 20 weeks, I'm actually very grateful now. These babies really do suck a lot out of me!
We are so thankful that everything is going so well. What a huge blessing. Continuing to pray that God will see these babies through each critical step of their development and that the ultrasound next week will reveal 3 healthy babies growing big and strong.

  1. Jessie! I can't believe a friend just sent me a link to your blog because she thought I'd enjoy following your story - without even realizing I knew you or knowing what an influence you've been on me becoming a nurse. (I'm 1/2 way thru nursing school and hope to someday follow in your footsteps as a CNM!) You made my experience giving birth to Scarlett so amazing, and I have no doubt that you've touched the lives of many more women than you even realize. :)
I'm so happy to see how great you're doing as a mama. And triplets - WOW! Congratulations!!! You are truly blessed!
